Hillsborough County GOP Corruption: Edna Walters Gets Personal SeaWall While Services Cut for the People.
In Hillsborough County the GOP works in a circle. Donors give to one campaign then get another GOP Commissioner to do the favors. Next time around one hand washes the other. This is one of those follow the dots stories..initially not a headline grabber, but when we think of vital county services like parks, fire stations, libraries and bus service being cut while a connected GOP woman [donor to Al Higginbottham] who throws her weight around gets Brian Blair to use tax-payer money for a donor's friend.....well, it is important to realize who pulls Blair's strings. You have the Sea Wall Scandal. Brian Blair has Hillsborough County work on his own private lake. Jim Smith, the Pinellas County Property Appraiser has Pinellas County buy his property for an amount way higher than his own office had the property appraised. And state Senator Mike Fasano has his own slush fund "reimburse" him $19,000 over the last two years.
Seems like the local Republican elected officials are no less corrupt than their national Republican counterparts.
